THE COLT
Forged in 1835, Under Halley's comet Samuel Colt created a special gun, made with the soul purpose to be given to a warrior, to fight the superntural. The Gun was forged with 13 bullets, the gun and bullets are said to kill any superntural being. The original hunter who possesed the gun used 6 bullets before he and the Colt dissapeared. The gun fell into the hand of Daniel Elkins who held it until he died, using none of the bullets. John Winchester then got his hands on it, using a further 6 bullets. Leaving Only 1.

The Guns is engraved with the spanish "non timebo mala" which means Fear no Evils. All the bullets are silver and engraved with a number on them. The Handle of the cold as a pentagram scraped into it.


GUNS
The Winchesters have many guns. The two main types they have are their Salt-rock shot-guns. To be more specific the boys use a one pistol-grip sawed off double barreled shot gun, with salt rock amo. and silver bullet hand guns. When hunting for ghosts the brothers use shotguns loaded with Salt-Rock amo, which repells spirits.

In season 2, Dean appeared to be using a new gun, which is thought to be a Colt M1911A1, with engravings on the barrel, and a mother of pearl grip. Dean used this gun in Devil's Trap (the season 1 finale), when in Season 2, in 2x03 - Bloodlust, and 2x09 - Crotoan.

Another Gun of deans, is another handgun with a mother of pearl grip. This one is thought to be a Baretta 92.

When hunting creatures, like the shapeshifter, silver bullets and hand guns are used. Most evil creatures can be killed by a silver bullet to the heart

Flare guns have also been used to kill a Wendigo.

EMF METER
Spirits and hauntings have often been linked with fluctuations in Magnetic Fields. An EMF meter reads the Electro-Magnetic fields in an area. Dean's EMF meter is home made, which he pieced together from a Walkman. The Meter emmits a sound and uses Red LED's to indicate the EMF level. A High EMF means that something paranormal has happened.


SALT
Salt is used to repell spirits. Creating a circle of salt around yourself means that you are protected. No evil thing can cross salt. Also, salt is used to cover the bones of Restless or vengeful spirits before they are burned. The Winchester brothers have also created some "Rock Salt Shots" for their shotguns, which are used to repell spirits.


CROSSBOW
Dean used a crossbow to fire dead man's blood soaked bolts into the vampires they faced with their father.



KNIVES
Both Dean and Sam both carry small pocket knives, within the trunk of the Impala, the boys have several knives, varying in size. They have at least 3 machetes, which are used for beheading. Sam has a knife in the pilot, the unusual curved knife is of unknown origin.


TASERS
Taser guns are mostly used for self defence and fire small electrodes into the attacker and send an electric current into them. You can only get one shot from a taser gun, which Dean used to fry a Rawhead


METAL STAKE
The Winchesters also posses a metal stake, which Dean used in "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" to pin the zombie into its coffin.


HOLY WATER
Blessed by a Priest, Holy Water is used to repel demons. When a demon comes in contact with Holy Water, is reacts like it is being burned by the water itself.

INFRARED THERMAL SCANNER
Use to search for hot and cold areas. The appearance of a ghost or spirit tends to lead to a change in temperature, usually a drop, allowing a thermal scanner to be used to detect ghosts.

PALO SANTO
Tamara carried a stake made from this holy wood which was described as being "toxic to demons like holy water", and can be used much like a devil's trap to keep a demon still while it is being exorcised.

DEMON KILLING KNIFE
Belonging to Ruby, this mysterious knife has a smilar power to the Colt, being able to kill demons. Bobby mentions he has never heard of any demon killing blade, and its origins are unknown. It seems to have engravings along the blade, which may give it it's power.

DEAD MAN'S BLOOD
The blood drained from a corpse acts as a poison to Vampires. It seems to work by mixing the blood with the blood of the vampire, either by cutting the vampire with a knife dipped in blood, or by shooting them with blood soaked arrows, or injecting them with it.
