NATIVE AMERICAN CURSE(Bugs)
The Ground at Oasis Planes used to be home to a tribe of native americans, who were attacked, and murdered by the "white man" over a span of six nights. On the 6th night, a powerful native american cheif vowed to curse the land, to get revenge upon the white man. When the sun and the moon share the sky as equals, nature would rise up and protect the valley. The curse would last for six days, killing any people on Oasis Planes during that time.
There is no way to stop a curse, you just have to get out of its way.
DEVIL'S TRAP (Devil's Trap)
The devil's trap is a symbol from the "Key Of Solomon", which is a n ancient and powerful book. The Symbol acts as a cage for a demon. Once a demon is inside the symbol, it is rendered powerless.
PENTAGRAM (Pilot)
A Pentagram is a 5 point star and is often assicated with Pagan Witchcraft. Mostly thought to be a symbol of evil, the pentagram (with the star point pointing upwards) is used for protection. A pentagram is sometimes called a Star of Solomon.
SIGIL OF AZAZEL (In My Time Of Dying)
This is the name of the symbol used by John to summon The Yellow eyed demon in the season 2 pilot. The Name Azazel refers to the leader of the fallen angels and is related to the story fo the nephalim. Sometimes it is used in reference to Satan. This symbol is also know as the Seal of Saturn.
SIGIL OF SULPHUR (Hellhouse)
The Sigil of Sulphur is a lesser used symbol related to Satanism.
ZOROASTRIAN SYMBOL (Shadow)
The symbol which resembles a Z with a circle around it, is used by Meg In "Shadow" to summon the Shadow Demons.The symbol itself is used to depict the human soul before birth and after death.
ANAGRAM (The Usual Suspects)
When ghosts and spirits try to communicate with the living some times words get mixed up in this case “danashulps" keeps appearing when the ghost is trying to say “Ashland” to help the ghosts body be found, and her murder solved.
CROSSROADS (All Hell Breaks Loose, Crossroad Blues)
A magical place, if you stand in the middle of a crossroads, and bury a picture of yourself, with black cat bones, and grave yard dirt, you will summon a crossroad demon, who will make a deal with you. the deal will give you anything you desire in exchange for your soul.
Quincunx ( Playthings)
Used in Hoodoo. It was used to ward off evil spirts, with a comination of rutuals performed by Rose Thompson, to protect her family home from her sisters evils ghost.
Rabbit's Foot Curse (Bad Day at Black Rock)
The Rabbit's foot, when owned by a person, bring them a run of amazingly good luck, but when the rabbit's foot is transfered to another person, or lost, the original owner becomes cursed with bad luck, and will die within a week of loosing the foot.
Devil's Shoestring (Time is on my side)
Used by Bela to try and ward off the Hell Hounds coming to collect her soul and take her to hell. It is a honeysuckle like plant that has long vines and is said to "trip up the devil" so he cannot enter your house.
Curse Box (Bad Day at Black Rock)
A curse box is used to keep evil / cursed magical items inside. Bobby Singer can make curse boxes and they have magical symbols on them to help contain the curses within them.
Mojo Bag (Fresh Blood)
Also known as a Gris-Gris bag these Hoodoo bags are said to carry good luck or ward off evil. Bela gets one from Gordon.
Goofer Dust (Crossroad Blues)
Part of Hoodoo customs, this dist is used to prevent evil from crossing a boundary, similar to salt. Specifically, Goofer dust is used to protect against Hell Hounds. The ingredients are said to bee graveyard dirt and snakeskin.
Holy Water (Salvation)
Holy Water is normal water which has been blessed by a priest. John, Sam and Dean can all make Holy water, and they usually do this using a roasary and a chant. Holy Water is used to hurt and repel demons, but some higher level, more powerful demons are immune to it.
Spirit Board (In My Time Of Dying)
A Spirit or Ouija board is used to communucate with spirits. Sam usues one when Dean is in a coma to contact him. It seems as though the spirit and the living person using the board both place their hands on the pointer and the spirit uses the living person's energy to move the pointer.
